I am delighted to be part of this exhibition, invited by curator Thomas Hong! The exhibition brings together artists from various crafts, showcasing how they use their mediums to reflect their thoughts and experiences.
I am particularly happy to present The Circle Series (Rings #1 to #22) in this exhibition. It feels like the perfect opportunity to reflect on my artwork and the balance between my full-time job and my creative pursuits. Recently, I have been focused on creating circular jewellery, and through the repetition and unique variations produced by the pieces themselves, this series embodies the complexity of our thoughts. Exhibition Statement (only in Chinese):
偶爾你從十個小時的深層睡眠一早醒來，梳洗後吃了一個簡單但富有營養的早餐，電視播著你不感興趣的節目，而且你已經厭倦碌手機⋯⋯。
反正左右無事，你便坐到桌子旁邊，打算做點甚麼。你打開抽屜，撥弄那粗粗軟軟甚麼都有一點的雜物，那些顏色、形狀、質感、重量、象徵⋯⋯仿如色彩繽紛的珠子在你眼前跳彈，突發的一念奇想，讓你動起手來將這些想法串連，在過程中也許不太順利，並要多花一點時間，或教你陷入沉思去解決麻煩，你重複又重複地做著相同的動作，你聽見自己的心聲，你回憶了或好或差的經歷，你回味著那些雜陳的感受⋯⋯。
突然你驚覺肚子餓得快受不了，你抬頭看鐘，驚訝原來已過了八個小時，黃昏的光線照入室內，你看見手上那件作品快成型了。你期望，不！期昐它實現你的想像！
在這一天，你沒有賺取任何金錢或丁點聲名，也沒有讓自己覺得舒服或享受娛樂，你甚至弄傷了自己的手！但你卻在昏暗的天色下覺得光明。
這感受就是人稱的「意義」。
去拿捏星火般的一個念頭，使之觀照心所，讓我們活得有光。
是次展覽聚集了廿一位各自就不同工藝媒介和材質應用都有一套想法的藝術家，他們皆散發著獨特而又縇麗的光芒。
